Beef Kabob Recipe

This is my beef kabob recipe. If you want to know how to make kabobs just follow this delicious recipe.

Kabob or Kabab as it is known in Israel is a sort of a Middle Eastern burger – made out of grounded beef and grilled or fried. It is an excellent dish that goes well with hummus, tahini sauce, salad, rice and other meat dishes.

Beef Kabob
A few beef kabobs I made at home.

This recipe is actually for Romanian Kabab, but it is the most popular in Israel so I figured that by now it has been “Israelised”.

Ingredients:

Enough for 10 kabobs
  • 1 pound (1/2 kg aprox.) grounded beef

  • A handful of finely chopped parsley

  • 1 medium sized finely chopped onion

  • 1 spoon of baking soda

  • 4-5 minced garlic cloves

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon grounded black pepper

Raw Beef Kabobs
This is what the raw kabobs should look like...more or less...

Preparing the Kabobs:

  1. Mix well all the ingredients, except the beef

  2. Add the beef and mix again – you can do it in a food processor for best result

  3. Break the mixed beef into even pieces and roll each into a long rounded shape

  4. Put in the fridge overnight for better taste

  5. Turn the grill on 15 minutes before cooking

  6. Put the Kabobs on the grill and cover the grill

  7. Cook for aprox. 5 minutes on each side

Note: you can also fry the Kabobs in a sauce pan with a little vegetable oil turning the beef until it is nicely cooked – about 10 minutes.

Note #2: if you grill or fry the kababs and they still come raw on the inside – just cut open each kabab in the middle and grill it some more on the open side.

Enjoy!
