Most hotels in Galilee are concentrated in the city of Tiberias on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and in the nearby kibbutzim. However, in northern Israel you can also find many hotels in Haifa, Nazareth, Safed, Acre and elsewhere.
The following are hotels I think you will enjoy:
The Scots Hotel is located on the shores of the lake – the Sea of Galilee. It has a somewhat aloof feel to it but it is very unique. The hotel resides in a 19th century beautiful stone building that used to be the first hospital in Tiberias, and was established by a Scottish doctor. The grounds are well kept and include stone terraces, a garden and a pool, with great views of the lake. Breakfast buffet is included and is very tasty – composed of locally sourced ingredients - fresh and delicious.
The rooms have an antique feel created by the stone walls – this atmosphere is mixed with newer technology in the rooms such as the flat screen TVs.
The Scots is definitely charming and luxurious, but if you choose to go there be prepared to open the wallet as it is pricey.
This hotel is a great opportunity if you've never stayed in a kibbutz before. Kibbutz Ginosar is located on the western shores of the Sea of Galilee. The location is perfect for all the Galilee attractions and the kibbutz is very well maintained and extra clean.
The rooms in the hotel are pretty simple but include all the basics plus free Wi-Fi. Food comes in great quantities and is fresh and tasty.
Since the hotel is in a kibbutz outside of the Tiberias city noise, you are pretty much guaranteed a quiet stay. This is a very nice kibbutz lodging for you, and the prices are quite reasonable.
So there you go - my shortlist of recommended Galilee hotels - enjoy your stay!
