Tel Aviv-Jaffa is the second largest city in Israel and as such the Tel Aviv hotels come in great variety. Since Tel Aviv is not huge in geographic terms many accommodations have good location close to “everything”. However some locations are better in my opinion – and I’ll recommend you those hotels that have very good location and offer great value for your money.
Carlton Tel Aviv : 4-5 stars
There are several bigger names high end Tel Aviv hotels but in the Carlton you get a combination of all that is good – location, service and amenities. The hotel is located perfectly on the beach next to the marina and offers a terrific view. It is close to everything – port, shopping, museums and the beach is literally outside the entrance to the hotel.
The rooms are fairly large and offer all the amenities you would expect and more. I recommend you stay at one of the Royal Floor rooms which allow you entrance to the 14th floor Royal Lounge. The lounge offers food throughout the day and after 4 PM you can enjoy an open bar.
The breakfast is huge even in Israeli standards and is extremely varied. The staff is friendly and attending and the hotel is sparkling clean.
Whether you are with family, group or on business the Carlton is a really good choice in the higher end hotel segment in Tel Aviv. Do yourself a favor and stay there – you won’t be disappointed.
The Cinema Hotel is a charming place to stay while in Tel Aviv. It is located right on the Dizengoff square and fountain – you can’t get more central than this.
Although the hotel is not too far from the beach it is not a beach hotel.
The style of the building is called Bauhaus which is a 1930’s modern German style – clean and simple lines.
The hotel used to be a cinema back in the day and its name - as well as the décor and memorabilia - is in honor of that era. No lack of character in this place.
The hotel is very clean and service is very personal and friendly. There is a large Israeli style complementary breakfast.
Other amenities include the rooftop deck and a sauna plus Jacuzzi next to it. In addition old films are being projected in the lobby and popcorn in made fresh to complete the experience.
In the afternoon and through the evening a light buffet is available to all guests at the outside terrace overlooking the city. All in all this place is your best bet in the mid range Tel Aviv hotels. Click here for more information and for reservations

Ben Yehuda apartments : 2-3 stars equivalent
The Ben Yehuda apartments as the name suggests is not really a hotel. However, it will give you a much better value for less money spent than similar hotels. You see what you get is an actual apartment with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. Very good arrangement for a family visiting the city but not only a family would enjoy this place.
The location is great as Ben Yehuda Street is very close to the beach and also centered enough to be accessible to all other attractions.
The staff is friendly and the apartments are being cleaned well every other day. Also included are 3 TV’s and free Wi-Fi internet connection in every unit.
