Welcome to Israel-Travel-and-Tours, a free online Israel travel guide, where you can find information and tips to help plan a tour or simply learn more about this unique and beautiful country.
Our Israel travel guide will show you just how exciting it can be to tour Israel and how fascinating and diverse the country and culture is.
While you can find factual information about Israel in numerous travel books and websites, this online travel guide strives to bring you a fresh and personal insider's viewpoint.
That means we'll not only show you all the must-see tourist attractions (with unique info about each one), but also lesser-known attractions you may not generally hear of elsewhere, as well as insider travel tips for the country.
And by the way, if you've already visited the Holy Land - don't worry - we're sure you'll find some new attractions here for your next visit.
This Israel travel guide is written by two Israelis who have first-hand experience with the country - Hillel and Michael. Hillel was born, raised and spent most of his life in Israel before moving to the US, while Michael was born, raised and spent most of his life abroad before immigrating to Israel. We think that together we're a fitting representation of Israel's cosmopolitan people. We created this website to show people what makes this country so special.
You should know that there are sooooo many beautiful and inspiring places to visit when you travel to Israel that you will find it hard to squeeze them all in. And you will find it just as hard to decide what your favorite is.
If you don't believe us, just check out this video, which will give you a taste of how much there is to see and experience in the country:
So as you can see there are tons of things to see and do.
Before you delve deep into this site and all that Israel has to offer, let us show you some of its most popular attractions that you really don't want to miss.
The main Israel tourist attractions that you most definitely do not want to miss are:
...Which will no doubt leave an impact on you. As one of the oldest cities in the world – with so much culture, religious significance and beauty – when touring Jerusalem you may feel like you are part of a biblical story.
The city is roughly divided into the old and the new. Naturally, most of the popular sites are located in the Old City, among those the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. A must-see for when you travel in Israel.
Tel-Aviv is one of our favorite cities in the world. The awesome beaches, modern design and fast pace make it a great Mediterranean city which will pretty much keep you busy 24/7.
Tel-Aviv is located within an hour of Jerusalem (to the east) and about two hours of the Galilee (to the north). As such it can serve as a great base for your tour of Israel. But the city has loads to offer in itself.
If you are like us and enjoy great food and fantastic wine, the Galilee area will not disappoint you.
The Dead Sea is a unique natural phenomenon unlike anything else. And it's actually the lowest place on the planet! The mineral concentration in the water is so extreme that there is hardly any life in its waters (hence the name). But don't worry, it's not only perfectly safe for us humans, it's waters are actually very beneficial...
The Dead Sea's minerals, which come in the form of salt and mud, are very beneficial for your skin and general health, and many people arrive from all over the world to bathe in this magical sea. So, when you tour Israel, make sure you stop here and have a good, long float!
You can also find a few sites of historical and archaeological importance in the Dead Sea area which you may want to check out.
So those are some of the "must-do's" when you visit.
But there is so much more to see and do when you visit the country!
The religious aspect, the culture and the history is like no other. The great diversity and the variety of landscapes (sea, desert, lakes etc.) and people (a mix of old and new world cultures) in a very small country will make you go WOW!!!
All you need when you travel to Israel is good, solid information and some helpful travel tips - then you can plan out exactly what you want to see and do on your trip - and experience it all.
In this website we offer you all of that and more.
To-Da Ra-Ba (that means thank you very much in Hebrew) for visiting our Israel travel guide. We hope you will enjoy your stay.
